6LA8 are known to be a very prolific bunch and they keep establishing themselves in new territory with every new release. In the Land of Dreams is the band's fifth album to date and the band shows no signs of letting up. It is largely grounded in electronic music as opposed to the band's ealier work which although, does make use of electronic elements, it has never been done in such a prominent and well-coordinated fashion. If you are a fan of Autechre with a touch of Mogwai, this is exactly what you are looking for but of course, like I always say, this is only intended to give you an estimate of what you are in for. This is legit. This is definitely my favourite Pakistani release to date. In fact, one of the best pieces of music I have heard this year regardless of the fact that I programmed drums on Distressing Peaks in the Moral Landscape. Just had to get that out of the way. :P
Tracks I enjoy in particular: Drowning in a Clumsy Fashion, Eighteen Songs of a Nomad Flute, The Part Where Credits Roll and You Remember You Had Legs, Distressing Peaks in the Moral Landscape.

Check out the new //orangenoise video they did for Lussun TV, which, as I am given to understand, is a comedy skit and music based show. They feature members from Third World Productions and Mega Productions. Anyway, the video involves //orangenoise performing a track off their upcoming LP and it kicks butt. An awesome marriage between post-punk, shoegaze and psych rock.

ILHAAM is a new black metal project featuring Sheraz Ahmed (Dionysus, MultiCorp, Foreskin, etc) and Dubai-based Ruahan Lasharie. Guitar duties are split between the two with Sheraz handling drum programming duties while Rauhan does the rest. Pretty much Swedish styled melodic/atmospheric black metal with an amazing outro where Rauhan plays the flute too! Amazing stuff, one of the best music I’ve heard from Lahore recently (and that’s saying a lot!). Sheraz and co. keep on improving each time.
