Aus Rine’s Self-Titled New Album

Aus Rine is their 1st release with me as part of the band and their 3rd release in general. There is a bit of everything in there; noise, ambient, kraut rock, post rock, drone etc. Aus Rine has also released a film in conjunction with the release. It is set to 4 songs off the album. The film was done by Talha Khan.

ReVolt Debut Album Released!

ReVolt, as promised, is out with their first full-length entitled, “ReVolt.”  Now I would like to keep my sense of journalistic integrity intact here and I understand that I am not allowed to take any sides but I can’t deny being really good friends with Taureg Tariq of Cauldron Born so I am going to naturally lean toward Cauldron Born on this one. The song, the Next Command, sounds like a tribute to Exit Wounds by Cauldron Born. The structure, with some minor additions, seems to echo Exit Wounds mathematically. Also, the band probably had Opeth’s Deliverance on repeat while they were writing Bridge of Despair. I have no intention of putting anyone down neither do I want to fuel the simmering enmity between ReVolt and Cauldron Born but I am kind of disappointed in the release. The album would have been perfect if ReVolt, instead of wanting to piss Cauldron Born off, would have gone ahead and left out The Next Command and Bridge of Despair. This is uniquely my opinion. You have the freedom to go check ReVolt out on your own and make your own decision.

Review of “And so Falls the Throne” by Berserker

n515735215_1753015_1045

Well in the Limited time I have im gona keep it short… Ahh who am I kidding? I love to write long reviews.. but I promise ill keep this one shorter then the last one I wrote.. of Dementia’s last song.. Lets begin.

The song Starts out in a very terrifying tone. With the noises of thousands of Crows flying about as if in a cemetery on a dark night . I like the feeling you get of insecurity when the song starts .  Along with it in the back is an Organ playing giving a very chilling tone . And the guitars come in . I would like to Add that Mehtaz Sultan did an Amazing job with the guitar works and So did the New guy Asadullah with this being his first song on Drums with Berserker . The drums start banging and it is Terrifying . but at the same time its got a very Groovy and rhythmic feeling to it while retaining its evilness and darkness . Then I imagine the band members said FUCK IT and started Thrashing the FUCK away . And O.M.G did they ever thrash away . lol . Tajmmul Comes in with Those killers vocals I love and the drums suddenly get very technical and you can imagine the hand cramps Mehtaz must have gotten playing those tricky riffs . Im a guitar Player myself so I know what the pain is like . the tone at this end COULD have been better but it gets the job done none the less . and besides with the state our Pakistani underground scene is at , who cares that much about the production quality? We’re just happy to get local metal ..

The vocals just keep coming at you.. slaying one poser after the other . The guitars gets quite technical 3 mins into the song.. the kind of playing I can only imagine to be doing one day . and the drums just start Blasting away as if someone has put satin on the drums and shoved a 5 feet dildo up his ass . haha sorry for the analogy , couldn’t think of anything else…. in the mid of the song the guitars and drums smooth down for a bit . I believe the members were very tired by now.. playing such fucking awesome riffs and beats for so long.. :D   and thus the song gets it first short break .

After that well Im not gona lie. The guitars and drums get a little hard to follow . I guess the band members wanted that to create confusion , if so it worked like a fucking charm . and thus comes silence . and Mr . Mehtaz comes in with a Ass raping riffs just ready to blow you away. That’s what I love about Berserker , they never run out of riffs and they always have one for you , when you feel nothing can be done . the song is surprising at every end , from beginning to end . It doesn’t get monotonous or generic . and so begins the biggest surprise of the song , Rain falling and a very out of place , weird and almost popish and Spanish flamenco Style Part . but u might feel there is a story to this but to me it made the perfect sense while being very confusing . I guess they wanted to describe of a very sad and tragic ending . I don’t know why but this part screams devastation to me ..

The Lyrics are out of my reach.. as you all know im a very illiterate , paindu , gaoon wala , who cant understand un-ordinary vocabulary , so the lyrics seemed a blur to me . I tried to read em a few times , got a headache and had to take 2 Aspirins . LoL.

Well ill end this review by saying the guitars in this track were superb . I cant say a single bad word about them . the vocals were done perfectly by one of my all time favorite Pakistani growlers that is Tajmmul , the drums were very interesting and technical and kept the song from becoming a Snooz fest like most LONG songs such as “Revolt’s” songs and Even “Exit Wounds” from my band “Cauldron born” ..which I might add is NOT a very easy thing to do when making a song with Programmed Drums .

I would Give this song a 91% , and Rank Berserker as one of the Top Death Metal acts in Pakistan with Cauldron Born being no where in sight =D hahaha.

Take care people and STAY METAL..
