ReVolt, as promised, is out with their first full-length entitled, “ReVolt.” Now I would like to keep my sense of journalistic integrity intact here and I understand that I am not allowed to take any sides but I can’t deny being really good friends with Taureg Tariq of Cauldron Born so I am going to naturally lean toward Cauldron Born on this one. The song, the Next Command, sounds like a tribute to Exit Wounds by Cauldron Born. The structure, with some minor additions, seems to echo Exit Wounds mathematically. Also, the band probably had Opeth’s Deliverance on repeat while they were writing Bridge of Despair. I have no intention of putting anyone down neither do I want to fuel the simmering enmity between ReVolt and Cauldron Born but I am kind of disappointed in the release. The album would have been perfect if ReVolt, instead of wanting to piss Cauldron Born off, would have gone ahead and left out The Next Command and Bridge of Despair. This is uniquely my opinion. You have the freedom to go check ReVolt out on your own and make your own decision.
