Bigotry – Distorted Aphorisms in Sleep

Bigotry is a project by Taimur Mazhar Sheikh of Aus Rine and 6LA8 and it seems to me like an outlet for the more basic and primal variety of music that Taimur tried to do with early Aus Rine.

Taimur is really prolific. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets signed on to a proper label for this kind of stuff. Personally, I think Taimur should consider sending some of this to the guys at Denovali or the Ajna Offensive.

Anyway, the new EP, formally called Distorted Aphorisms in Sleep, oscillates between two extremes. One side has a foothold in Aidan Baker’s repertoire while the other one is grounded in the works of bands like Slowdive (at least that’s how I see it). A highly recommended listen for fans of drone and ambient music.
