Moshpit 2

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but this is a revolution we are dealing with here. The Lahore Mosh Crew have been working real hard to bring you some metal, the culmination of which is in the form of Moshpit 2. The show is scheduled to happen somewhere around Jinnah Hospital in Lahore on January 8th, 2011. The following bands are expected to perform: Odyssey, Takatak, Downfall Humanity, Ruin, Project Berklee, Black Warrant, Shapataz, Hammer of Dawn, Foreskin, Cream Frieche. No more of my pretentious ass. Just fucking be there.

The Green Scene Carnival

What initially appeared like another generic Lahore *cough* ‘underground’ concert seems to have potential as a good psuedo-metal gig, considering that most of the bands performing are metal. Bands playing include Takatak, Dementia, Project Berklee, V8, Eleventh Commandment, ACMS, Preaching Hypocrites, Dionysus and Foreskin. Has some rock bands and some solo performers but if you’re in Lahore I’d reccomend you drop by at the Green Scene carnival because it’s not every day 7 metal bands get to play at a ‘normal’ gig here in Lahore.  Anyway, the gig is on the 25th and you can get all the details at the event page on Facebook.

The Mosh Pit

Alright, guys, there is a show happening up there in Lahore on Sunday and somehow, former Markhor writer, Hassan Umer, is involved. The show features bands such as Odyssey, Takatak, Cranial Nerves, Wreckage etc. among other awesome acts. Now I realize us Pakistanis have been conditioned to take “good news” with a pinch of salt and getting to see all these bands under one roof, it is not hard to see why some of you would be skeptical. Fuck that. This is real. Be there or bust a nut to some Bollywood (I will do the latter).

Demonic Resurrection To Play Brutal Assault

With the history of tension that India and Pakistan seem to share, it is practically impossible for Metalheads on one side of the border to co-ordinate with Metalheads on the other side.  We may be enemies in the minds of the fuckers that run shit around our countries but, personally, at least, India and Pakistan should be on better terms.  This post may not have anything to do with Pakistan but from a South-Asian standpoint, we are finally on the map. Demonic Resurrection have confirmed their first European appearance. They are going to play Brutal Assault 2011, alongside the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Devin Townsend, Devourement etc.

Odyssey to cover Orion!

Alright people, there’s an Odyssey gig tomorow and here’s this mini-update from Hussam Raza.

“Guys, a couple of things about the Odyssey gig at Alhmara Open Air this Saturday (18th July – tickets available at Minigolf for Rs 300).

Since Omer (Drums – Odyssey) is not going to be in town for the gig, we thought this would be a good time to revisit the past and play some ORION songs, especially since Bilal Nadeem (Orion’s drummer) is in town these days. Since myself, Waqas and Bilal are all members of Orion, this is a good opportunity to play songs from our debut album ‘Angel Of Dust’.

So we’ll be playing as Odyssey, but we’ll be ‘covering’ Orion.

Odyssey’s band lineup (for this gig only) will be:

Raja Nabeel Banwa (Bass/Vocals)
Hussam Raza (Rhythm Guitars)
Waqas Ahmed (Lead Guitars)
Bilal Nadeem (Drums)”

I am STOKED! Be there, people!
