Multinational Corporations – Salaab

Lahore’s Multinational Corporations is back again with their brand of politically charged punk. The song is called Salaab and it is a thoroughly riff heavy affair. Salaab has been released as a sort of promo for their upcoming EP, Jamat-al-Maut, and if Salaab is any indication of what the rest of the EP has to offer, I am sold!

Inferner post 2 songs online and open for Mayhem in Dubai

Rawalpindi based metal band Inferner have caused quite the storm, since the members split off from Atrum Animus (if you lived in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, you knew who they were). They’ve put up 2 songs on their SoundCloud page that they also played live with their previous band, as well as opening for Black Metal legends Mayhem in Dubai. The Iron Markhor’s Hassan Umer caught up with Inferner’s Mubeen Mujeeb and conducted a mini-interview with him.

How does it feel to be opening for a legendary and pioneering metal band like Mayhem?
It was a childhood dream come true for us on a personal level for all of us. The true Mayhem are pioneers of the metal genre and fathers of black Norwegian metal. It was unbelievable experience to share a stage so big. To see them set their sound before the show and get to see a private show on the sound check was more than we ever dreamed of. Plus we have no words to describe the feeling of representing Pakistani metal to the world and to Mayhem.

What can we expect from Inferner in the future?
Hell!! \m/

And to put the matter to rest, what was the main reason behind the name change from Atrum Animus to Inferner?
Its not a name change its a different band. The lineup has new and so has the mentality and ideology. That was the past and Inferner is current. Atrum Animus has nothing to do with Inferner other than the members of Inferner were a part of that band and since then have moved on!

On the music front, their new originals display a dark, brooding style of metal that takes influence from black metal as well as other genres. The production is done by Isb/Pindi metal scene mainstay Jonathan Jones, who has produced everyone from Depletion to Venom Vault in the past.

Dementia – The Mosh Pit

a

Lahori metal titans Dementia, known for their energetic live shows and Omar Shahid’s willingness to get the crowd involved, have put out their first online single in over 3 years! The lineup has went through its fair share of changes, with Raza’s little brother Faaiz now handling songwriting duties, and in the process pushing aside the band’s old groove based sound for one that is a tad bit more technical and representative of contemporary metalcore. Breakdowns a plenty, and the clean djent style production by Hassan Iqbal (Amoebean) further distinguishes old Dementia with the new Dementia. Omar Shahid is at his howling, grating best of course. Check it out at the link below.
