Lahore Metalcore titans TAKATAK have finally released their long awaited 2nd song. Apparently they’re working with Odyssey’s Ahmed Waqar on a full length album release too. Solid track if you’re into this type of stuff, nice melodies, infectious grooves and the highlight is definitely the drumming.
6LA8 are known to be a very prolific bunch and they keep establishing themselves in new territory with every new release. In the Land of Dreams is the band's fifth album to date and the band shows no signs of letting up. It is largely grounded in electronic music as opposed to the band's ealier work which although, does make use of electronic elements, it has never been done in such a prominent and well-coordinated fashion. If you are a fan of Autechre with a touch of Mogwai, this is exactly what you are looking for but of course, like I always say, this is only intended to give you an estimate of what you are in for. This is legit. This is definitely my favourite Pakistani release to date. In fact, one of the best pieces of music I have heard this year regardless of the fact that I programmed drums on Distressing Peaks in the Moral Landscape. Just had to get that out of the way. :P
Tracks I enjoy in particular: Drowning in a Clumsy Fashion, Eighteen Songs of a Nomad Flute, The Part Where Credits Roll and You Remember You Had Legs, Distressing Peaks in the Moral Landscape.
