Serpent – Impostor

Islamabad/Pindi metal scene veterans Serpent have finally released their first single. Featuring members of ISI, Depletion, Cranial Nerves, Wreckage (Shahab Khan and Waqar Ghayas). Great listen, reccomended to fans of Chimaira and Shadows Fall. Stellar production from Jonathan Jones as usual.

Multinational Corporations – Inhumanization

It is true. Multinational Corporations, a peculiar band of politically aware metal punks, are out with their new song. The song is called Inhumanization and it’s a fairly straightforward death grind track. Think Misery Index and Carcinogen with a special emphasis on the death metal side of things.

I was a little unsure about the guitar tone and the bass work initially but it has definitely grown on me. Good stuff. Check it out. BTW, the song has been produced by Nabeel Imam from Markhor favourites, Cardinal Sin and Communal Grave.

Nepal based metal promoters BRUTAL POKHARA have finally released their long awaited online compilation. Spanning a number of countries and a ton of great bands, this is definitely the best and most comprehensive Asian Metal compilation ever. I’m extremely honored to have played a part (albiet small) in this compilation, having reccomended all the Pakistani bands you’d see here. Speaking of which, this compilation features Myosis, Marg, Downfall Humanity, Odyssey, ReVolt, Takatak, Dionysus, Project Berklee and Dementia.

Dionysus – Burial Ground

Lahore based Death-Doomers DIONYSUS are out with their new track BURIAL GROUND, recorded in their own studio. Mixed and mastered by bassist Waleed Ahmed. Honestly speaking, a huge step up from their last number ‘Peace With Greed’ and is a great direction for the band. Looks like Myosis isn’t the only doom metal styled band now, and it’s awesome that there are bands in the scene exploring other styles of metal.
