Brutal Pokhara E-Zine (featuring Downfall Humanity and Dementia)

So a bunch of Nepal based dudes put out this killer e-zine that’s over like a 100 pages, features internationally known ASIAN underground metal bands Fastkill, Nervecell, Rudra and whatnot. What’s really cool is that they have an article by Eleventh Commandment guitarist Usman Zahid as well as interviews of Pindi based Downfall Humanity and Lahori crowd favorites Dementia. This is a really cool initiative to unite the growing Asian metal scene and us at the Markhor are with it ALL THE WAY.

Babrus Khan’s Newest Deviation

Babrus Khan is a graphic designer based in Karachi and for the uninformed amongst us, he helped found the Metal Seinen Group. HE’S BACK NOW and with a PLAN! He’s working on a digital publishing site for manga and he’d like your Pakistani Metal band to contribute to the background music. Here is how it is going to be: a single episode made into a flash file with your music playing in the background. I know it might be a little difficult to visualize how things are going to look like but this should give you a little estimate regardless.

Now I know many Metal bands are concerned if they will eventually have to compromise on their values by getting themselves involved in a project such as this one. Well, you can rest assured, we are not talking about some weak-ass shit like Naruto here. There will be blood and guts and violent decapitations.

Communal Grave – new vocalist and album update

So I was browsing Facebook and randomly came across this piece of news from the Communal Grave page, 2 weeks old but somehow hardly anyone caught it.

“1 year has passed since we performed live and with the passing year comes some bad news, Moiz Khan has Departed the band as our vocalist on good terms and we wish him all the best!! Best of Luck Bro!! Fowad Khan is our new vocalist and we feel worthy to have his presence in our band. The Album’s vocal recordings will be completed now and finally we will release our album in late 2010 or early 2011 on my own Record Label *Disease Free Nation Records*. till then cheers!”

Don’t know what to think of this, I think Moiz had a unique growl that served their originals ‘Anomaly’, ‘Black Harvest’ and ‘Blinded by Deceit’ well. Regardless, I’m looking forward to the upcoming album and am interested in how their own record label fares, let’s hope it kicks ass.

Semideus debut release OUT!

Free download, of course. Semideus WAS a 1 man BM band headed by none other than the kvltest fucker ever to crawl out of Pakistan, and Iron Markhor co founder Asadullah “IndusPutra” Qureshi. Now it’s a 2 man band, with Asad’s cousin Arslan Orakzai also in the band.

4 tracks here, and while Asad calls it an album, I think it’s retarded to call a 4 track thing an ALBUM :P
