Iblees Demo; Dozakhi Madarchod

Iblees is a side-project of Baal’s. It also features Faisal Khan who does vocals and plays guitar. The project is internet-based since Faisal Khan lives in Peshawar. The logo was done by yours truly. BTW, this was recorded in 2004. The original logo was, well, too simplistic. :D

Gasmask Holocaust Records Signs Pakistani Progressive Metal Giants Odyssey

It is official. Odyssey is going to release their full-length debut through Gasmask Holocaust Records. Pakistani Heavy Metal finally has found itself some patronage. Formerly, bands would always bring up a lack of motivation to play metal in conjunction with no record labels who support metal in Pakistan. No more whining about a lack of incentive. :D

The  following is the official statement by Gasmask Holocaust Records:

“Following up to Underground Chaos Vol. 1, Gasmask Holocaust Records is proud to announce that we will be working with Lahore based progressive giants, Odyssey for our second release.

Odyssey is a progressive metal band from Lahore that attempts to breach the boundaries of Pakistani music with an eclectic mix of aggression, melody and memorable songwriting. From intricate, progressive riffs and screaming solos to soaring melodies and atmospheric keyboards, the band is focused on delivering a prog metal masterpiece with their forthcoming debut album.

Odyssyeys influences include Dream Theater, Symphony X, Metallica, Megadeth, Savatage, Opeth and Ark among others. The band has played various live shows over the past year including performances at the Rafi Peer Theatre Youth Festival and Rockball ’09 (where they won the Battle of the Bands) as well as gigs supporting charitable causes for the Pahchaan Foundation and for the Pakistan Youth Movement.

Keeping up with the GmH tradition of doing something different and providing solid releases to the masses, we are working closely with the band on this release and will release something entirely new and untried by anyone in Pakistan before, be it on the commercial or underground level.”

I expect everyone who fancies himself a metalhead to support Gasmask Holocaust Records and buy the stuff that they put out.
